Dear RMACES Members,

I hope this letter finds you doing well.  We're excited that you've decided to join us at The Westgate Resort and Spa in Park City, Utah.  The conference committee has worked hard to put together an exciting 2012 RMACES  Conference.  We hope that you will enter into the spirit of the conference theme, "Transformation and Integration: Creating Connections" and allow yourself to be transformed by engagement with sessions, receptions, meetings, new experiences, and new thoughts and ideas.  You can then return to your work refreshed, renewed and transformed and begin the work of integration.

The conference committee believes that there is something for everyone who chooses to attend and become engaged with the offerings.  Moreover, the conference will be a place to see familiar faces, build new relationships, mentor and be mentored, contribute to the counseling profession, while being immersed in both direct and indirect learning experiences.  With an open mind and open heart you may create connections that will be meaningful to you personally and professionally in our ever-changing world.

We anticipate that your own professional development will be greatly enhanced through your presence and participation in the 2012 conference experience.   I recently came across a First Nations saying that resonated with me: “Remember your teachings.”  Perhaps remembering that the work we do in the counseling profession can make a difference in the world will add even more depth to your experience as we gather together.

While I am grateful to all of the conference committee members, I would especially like to thank Dr. Penny Dahlen, Past-President of RMACES, whose assistance in conference planning was invaluable.
Thanks, too, to the many doctoral students who freely volunteered their time and positive energy.

We especially welcome our own Dr. Nicole Hill, President of ACES, and Dr. Robin Lee, President-Elect of ACES.  Please attend their Town Hall Meeting for the latest ACES update to learn what is happening nationally in the field of counselor education and supervision.

Please join us at the Welcoming Reception, Graduate Student Reception, and President's Reception.  We look forward to seeing you.

Warm regards,

Bobbie Birdsall
2012 RMACES President
