ARGOSY UNIVERSITY/DENVER INVITES APPLICANTS FOR THE POSITION OF DEPARTMENT CHAIR FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF COUNSELING.
The Department of Counseling oversees two Master’s degrees (Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy) and three doctoral degrees (Counselor Education and Supervision, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Pastoral Community Counseling). The counseling programs follow CACREP standards and the marriage and family therapy degrees follow COAMFTE standards. Duties include department administration, hiring and supervision of faculty, teaching, advising, curriculum development, student recruitment, and liaison with local educational institutions. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
Doctoral degree in counselor education and supervision
Experience with CACREP accreditation
Knowledge of both counseling and marriage and family therapy programs
An established record of excellence in teaching and advising, scholarship, and in professional service
Either previous service as department chair or administrative experience in a doctoral-granting department.
